Research Project: Pathfinder

Research Project: Pathfinder

Our XQuery compiler Pathfinder turns relational database systems into scalable XQuery and XPath processors that can cope with huge XML inputs. Pathfinder comes packaged as a retargetable standalone compiler and also is integral part of MonetDB/XQuery.

Research Project: Ferry

Research Project: Ferry

Ferry establishes a new connection between two somewhat distant shores: programming languages and database technology: How far we can push the idea of relational database engines that directly and seamlessly participate in program evaluation?

Research Project: Nautilus

Research Project: Nautilus

Nautilus aims at providing database developers with tools that support them in analyzing, debugging, fixing, and testing data transformation processes within their database applications.

MonetDB/XQuery PDF Print

MonetDB/XQuery is the tight coupling of MonetDB, the Pathfinder Compiler, and the Pathfinder Runtime extension for MonetDB. The open-source project MonetDB/XQuery is hosted at Sourceforge. It is available for a large number of plattforms, including Linux (32 and 64 bits), Windows® (NT, 2000,XP, Server 2003), and MacOS X.

Binary and Source Distributions

From time to time we release distribution versions of MonetDB/XQuery. They are available via the MonetDB download page: http://monetdb.cwi.nl/XQuery/. This is the recommended way to acquire the MonetDB/XQuery sources.

CVS Snapshots

Our CVS software development repository is hosted on SourceForge, and you are free to access the repository directly via anonymous CVS.

Our CVS repository contains the latest bleeding edge development code. The use of CVS typically only makes sense if you (a) require a new software feature that has not yet made its way into a distribution version and if you have been advised from a developer to use a CVS version, or if you are (b) interested in the latest development on MonetDB/XQuery and don't care about a potential instability of CVS snapshots.

Note that MonetDB/XQuery is under heavy development. As a consequence checkins may sometimes not be thoroughly tested. Development versions of MonetDB/XQuery might be completely unstable or not even compile at all. Basing your system on development code that is constantly changing may also make troubleshooting a lot more difficult.
